WAR IS OVER

The crew from Sunday street wars have decided not to continue with their own events. “It was a hard decision with a lot of soul searching to find out what to do for the best” said Lee Child. “We have lost count of the many hours, weeks and months spent on Smeatharpe airfield arranging and running the events”. With no outcome to the noise abatement so far, trying to promote the 2009 season is very hard for Dakota Drag strip. The biggest mountain to climb is getting sponsorship and advertisers without a confirmed venue. Another set back we had was with RAF Portreath. The event was moved to September but had to be cancelled, because the runway surface got damaged, so we understand, by a number of demo runs at a different event. Because of this decision the Sunday street wars crew have full Portatree timing system for sale with options for ¼ mile and 1/8 mile. We also have track equipment for sale like a Berrymans spreader and glue sprayer.Details can be found street talk forum. “This doesn’t mean I am giving up the sport, I am still available for trackprep and consultancy for running a safe event” added Lee. Thank you to everybody that attended the events and big thank you to all the sponsors.
